Proposed MARC By-Law Changes

The following four proposed by-law changes will be voted on at our next meeting.  The content that is being removed/changed is in parentheses, with the changes/additions in RED:

 

ARTICLE V

OFFICERS

 

Section 3.        Nominations:

The Board of Directors shall appoint a nominating committee consisting of five (5) current board members to propose a slate of officers and board members.         

 

A sample ballot containing the names of the persons nominated shall be distributed via U.S. mail or electronically to the members with notice of the election meeting at least two weeks in advance of the election meeting.  Nominations shall also be accepted from the floor during the meetings, when elections are held so long as the Secretary has been notified at least 7 days before the election.

 

Section 4.        Elections:

Officers shall be elected by members present and voting during the meeting in (was September) November. The new term of office shall begin (was immediately) in January following after the election meeting.

AMENDMENTS

 

These Bylaws may be amended by the following:

 

c.  Notifying the general membership with written notice via U.S. mail or electronically not more than thirty (30) nor less than four (4) days of the proposed changes.
